Name: Wanda Maximoff [AKA The Scarlet Witch]
Fandom: Marvel (X-men & The Avengers, primarily)
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Appearance: Wanda is shapely, and on occasion uses that to her advantage. She has green eyes and long, reddish-brown hair that falls down over her shoulders and down her back in soft waves and a few curls. Her nails were long before the came to the Malaise house, and painted blood red along with her lips. She isn't very tall, but she makes up for it with presence, when she isn't curled over with her head between her knees, screaming.
Personality: Wanda can be three, very different types of a person. When she is at her best, and most stable in her mind, she is a rather nice woman, with a sweet smile and an affinity towards kids. She can be rather formal at times, but that's how she was raised to be. When she is the most real and is the least wrapped in her own false memories and false reality, she is broken, weak, and harbors thoughts of suicide. She is a mess in that state, because she knows in the back of her mind that all of the joys she created for herself aren't real, and she knows all of the things she's done because of it. At her worst, which is when she is the most lost in her own head, she can be either the overprotective mother to her imaginary children, or a vixen with no memory of children or her husbands, real or imaginary. In that state she easily resorts to violence when provoked with the idea that she's just making it all up in her head.
ROLEPLAY:
How Your Character Got to Malaise House: Wanda Maximoff was once mostly sane. She once had a good life with her mother(until her death), step father, and twin brother Pietro. It wasn't until her birth father, a strong, controversial politician from America, came and took the two away from their home, that she really started to slip. She and her brother tried hard to please their father, but in the end he was only using them for personal gain. When he discovered that her mind wasn't quite right, he used that to his advantage as well and sometimes had her exposed to experimental procedures, making her worse off. Eventually the twins broke free from him and tried to live normal lives. She became a math teacher for a short time, loosing her job due to signs of mental instability, and turned to fortune telling and palm reading while her brother supported her. The two were then approached by an independent political research task force (V.E.N.G.E.R) dedicated to stop and expose people like their father. They joined with little hesitation. It was then that she met Clint Barton. They fell in love and eventually married. Over the years, with the stresses of working as part of VENGER, being a burden on her brother and then her husband, of marriage and the stress of living with her fathers burden on her shoulders, her mental state continued to weaken. When her relationship with Clint fell apart, partially from jealousy on Clint's part, she began having numerous, small affairs, continuing the deterioration. When she had a miscarriage and then discovered that she could never have kids due to her father's mistakes, she fell apart completely. She began to create a fantasy world in her mind, children, a new husband(an android named the Vision), new friends, new relationships. She was institutionalized when it became too much. Clint tried to reconcile with her but when seeing that she had created a new husband for herself in her mind, left and never turned back. When she tried to kill multiple doctors for suggesting that her children weren't real and almost succeeded in doing so once, The doctors convinced Clint and Pietro to let them send her to Malaise for help.
Symptoms Your Character Experiences (If Any): Wanda has severe hallucinations and severe bipolar disorder, as well as selective temporary amnesia.
Example Journal Entry:
The snow is beautiful outside, is it not? The babies want to play out there, but they'll just get sick. Thomas tried to open the window and get outside, that silly boy. Maybe when my dear brother comes to visit he can take them out. They'll be bundled up, of course, what sort of mother would I be if they weren't? I'm sure they would enjoy that. The babies do love their Uncle.
This strange woman came by my home today, telling me she had pills for me. Of course I...
That's odd, I don't remember what happened after that...
Oh god...
Example Post:
The sun was was almost outside, the sky past it's red stage, now turning dark blue. Still the lights in Wanda Maximoff's room were shut off, and she made move to do anything about it. She sat with her head between her knees, sheets jumbled and almost completely on the ground. A pillow was across the room, the other neatly where it should be beside her. Her toes were white, clenching the sheet underneath them. She was muttering to herself, almost sobbing into her knees. She wished her nails weren't filed down, she would scratch to see if she was still alive. Who had filed them down? Who had taken away her babies, her husband, her life?
Who was her husband?
Which man, clear in her memory, was the real one? Were either real? Were both?
Where was her brother, the one person she needed above all others? He was so far away, so far.
Biting her lip, she muffled a scream as she slowly rocked, her hair falling haphazardly down over her, slowly tangling into knots.
She wanted to go home, to go away from this place, anywhere but where she was.
